Lequinto, the eight-year-old sprinter, trained by Tony Carroll, completed an extraordinary hat-trick of victories in just seven days last month. Ridden each time by apprentice jockey Matthew Slater, who enjoyed his first winner on board Lequinto, the duo lit up the turf with three wins over five and six furlongs.
The gelding showed his class and love for the Royal Windsor track. He kicked things off with a confident win on Monday 23rd June, followed up with a late burst to snatch victory just five days later on Saturday 28th June, and then rounded off the hat-trick with a dominant performance to seal the third on Monday 30th June.
Known for his consistency and tenacity, Lequinto has become a bit of a Windsor specialist over the years, where he has ran 14 times since 2022. Trainer, Tony Carroll, commended both horse and rider, calling the achievement “a fantastic result for the whole team,” while Slater, still in the early stages of his riding career, praised Mr Carroll and Lequinto, saying "he is a very unique horse".
