Tuesday 30th December 2025 – A total of 55 runners will compete across a seven-race card at Royal Windsor Racecourse on New Year’s Day with top stables such as Dan Skelton, Paul Nicholls and Olly Murphy all represented at the meeting.

This is the first time racing has been held at Royal Windsor on a New Year’s Day since 1998, with the annual fixture a much-missed event on the social calendar for many racegoers around the country.

The feature race of the day is the Fitzdares New Year’s Day Handicap Hurdle Race which is worth £100,000 and run over 2m4f.

The incredibly consistent Hartington is the current market leader after going agonisingly close when runner-up at Haydock in a competitive affair. Joining him will be Guard Duty who beat Hartington over this course and distance at the start of the year.

Nicky Henderson’s East India Express and Alan King’s Castle Carrock add further depth to what looks an intriguing affair. A total of 12 runners will go to post.

The first race of the day kicks off at 11:49am with the final race on the card set to take place at 3:22pm. There is £200,000 worth of prize money on offer and the ground is currently described as Good, Good to Soft in places.
