On 19 April 2025, Royal Windsor Racecourse was proud to host Space Safari, a first-of-its-kind drone light show combining state-of-the-art technology with storytelling, immersive entertainment, and eco-conscious values.
Bringing together 600 drones choreographed using advanced AI and swarm technology, Space Safari transformed the skies into a live cinematic experience — captivating visitors with tales of the first animals launched into space before humankind.
The Experience
From the moment gates opened, the venue buzzed with energy and excitement. Attendees enjoyed a vibrant festival atmosphere with classic fairground rides, cutting-edge VR gaming stalls, an immersive light and soundscape, and VIP hospitality experiences overlooking the Thames.
As darkness fell, all eyes turned to the sky. The drone show – a breathtaking 20-minute display – combined stunning visuals, storytelling, and an original score to create a moving, memorable experience.
Sustainability Spotlight
Space Safari showcased drone displays as a sustainable, low-impact alternative to fireworks. The use of electric drones — with no loud bangs or smoke — allowed for a family-friendly experience that wowed without disturbing wildlife or the local community.
