Balding's Banker's - 11 July
Andrew Balding - Royal Windsor Racecourse Monday Night Racing Ambassador
Gates Open: 4pm First Race 6pm
Tonight we have two runners at Royal Windsor Racecourse. In the first Showdaisy is ridden by one of our talented young jockey's Joshua Bryan in the apprentice race. Josh has graduated through the pony racing circuit and Showdaisy is going well at home and I feel she has each way claims this evening.
Mucho Applause also flies the Kingsclere banner for us tonight in the second. He finished third in a good maiden in Newmarket a couple of weeks ago and I am hopeful of a good run. The main dangers are Clive Cox's Tis Marvellous, who ran on well for second place at Newbury and the unraced Silent Assassin for Ed Walker. The later cost 270,000 euros from the breeze-up sales and is certainly the newcomer to keep an eye on in the market.
In the seller, the third race, Paul Coles's Brasted is the stand out horse in for me and should be able to improve on his second place form this evening.
Richard Hannon's Fabric was the beaten favourite on her first run at Newmarket and I would think she could improve for the experience and be in the mix tonight.
The fifth is rather open. Marco Botti and Andrea Atzeni team up with Princess Raihana who has three qualifying runs and has improved each time out and is open to more progress on her handicap debut.
Alan King's, a dominant force in jump racing, has also been enjoying a superb time on the flat. He saddles Cosmeapolitan in the sixth who should be respected as she should have more to offer over a longer trip tonight.
We have mentioned Prendergast Hill previously in this column, who runs for Ed de Giles in the last. He was a second over the course and distance two runs back and I would like to think he could get the job done this evening.
Have a great Monday night.
